About Sauna Bivak

Experience Sauna Bivak, an award-winning sauna design on the Danube River in the greater Budapest area of Budakalász, Hungary.

Conceived by the Budapest-based architecture firm, Bivak, Sauna Bivak boasts not only a compact and mobile design but also the flexibility to be easily installed on a variety of terrains. It is equally suited for both urban and rural settings, and in one instance, this exceptional sauna was situated on the banks of the Danube River as the prototype was hosted by the Tandem Bar in the town of Nagymaros, Hungary. The sauna has since relocated to Ebihal Büfé in Budakalász.

Sauna Bivak has been honored as the winner of the 2023 BIG SEE Wood Design Award. The BIG SEE initiative is organized by the Centre for Creative Economy of Southeast Europe, uniting 21 countries spanning the Adriatic-Ionian, Balkan-Mediterranean, and Danube regions. These countries include Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Kosovo, Malta, North Macedonia, the Republic of Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia, and Turkey.
