Hello Dr. Louis Pisani,
I never went to the Calistoga resort specifically, but used to go to Indian Springs in Calistoga every year for a birthday treat that included a mud bath, soak, and steam sauna, followed by a massage. It was extremely relaxing and rejuvenating. The mud bath feels like floating in warmth and is very different compared to being in a hot tub. I often feel like I can't breathe in a hot tub if I'm in it too long, but don't get that same sensation from the mud bath. You just have a lot to wash off after the session is over. After the mud bath, they offer an additional bath and they provided chilled cucumber water and a bamboo tool to clean my nails, before going into a wet steam sauna, followed by the massage. If you haven't tried it before, I recommend it!

Hello community!
I'm Nicole C. Scott, the Digital Strategist with Bray's Run Productions.
Personally, I prefer natural hot springs over spas. And I prefer dry sauna's over steam saunas and hot tubs. Regardless, I love to sweat and soak and have missed doing this over the past few years with all the lockdowns and regulations getting in the way. I look forward to exploring a lot of destinations when things go back to normal. In the meantime....
This forum will be a great way for the greater bathing culture to come together and share posts and blogs about your favorite destinations whether they are hot springs, spas, saunas, etc. To make recommendations, ask questions, update people about which places have just opened, or which one's have closed. Which locations are clothing optional, and which ones are not. Which are co-ed, or separate people based on gender. The health benefits of this lifestyle, and basically anything related to the topic of sweating, soaking, and swimming. You get the idea.
Ideally, we will a great online community that helps to support the greater bathing community. We look forward to seeing this community grow and flourish.
